Heike Bröckerhoff

Heike Bröckerhoff, born in 1987, studied media and cultural science in Düsseldorf and philosophy in Nantes, France. In 2013, she graduated from the MA program Performance Studies in Hamburg and now works as a freelance dramaturge. Researched on the relations between collective memory, identity, and corporeal practices by asking for the critical potential of remembering. Now, she theoretically and practically examines assumption as (artistic) strategy. Her engagement in the field of art traverses from choreography, performative installations, writing, and video to the organization of festivals. She is member of the performing arts collective Stomach Company based in Nantes and is currently co-founding plateau, a discursive platform for the performing arts scene in Hamburg.

Milka Ivanovska

Milka Ivanovska is a graduate political scientist from Skopje, Macedonia. Since 2012 she has been a student in the two-year MA program at the Department of Political Science (Political Research Methodology and Social Analysis track) of Central European University, Budapest. Moreover, since 2011 she has also been in the Cultural Management track of the Management of Human Resources MA program at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. She has been collaborating with Lokomotiva – Centre for New Initiatives in Arts and Culture from Skopje on several projects since 2010, including the writing of two experimental reports from the Laboratories for Dramaturgy and Dance (2010 and 2011) as part of the LocoMotion Festival and a policy document voicing the needs and values of the independent contemporary dance and contemporary theatre scene in Macedonia (2012). Earlier she had been also contributing on several research projects, including the policy brief “Towards the improvement of political science and law students’ research competences in Macedonia” (RRPP), and on two regional research projects: “Mapping and Monitoring Security Sector Reforms in the Western Balkans” and “Security Transitions in the Western Balkans: From Conflict Zone to Security Community” as part of her internship at Analytica Think Tank, Skopje (2011/2012). Her research interests include: cultural policy, new tools for participation and democratic accountability, politics of labour in post-socialist countries, social movements and politics of contention. In terms of methodology, she is interested in qualitative interpretive methods. Finally, within the Critical practice programme (2014), she is interested in creating empirical and critical accounts on the regional performing arts platforms within the ex-Yugoslav space, their political, organizational, ideational practices and specificities in order to contribute to their further development.

Magda Lipska

Magda Lipska is a curator and a researcher based in Warsaw, Poland. She studied Cultural Sciences at the University of Warsaw and Humboldt University in Berlin and Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK. Between 2007-2008 she was a curatorial fellow in Kuenstlerhaus Stuttgart, Germany. Since 2008 she has been working in the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw in the intersection of Exhibition and Public Program Departments. Her recent curatorial projects include: Collection Summer 2013Dance Scene (2013), Today’s Art Makes Tomorrow’s Poland (2013), Stage &Twist – curatorial exchange with Tate Modern co-curated with Capucine Perrot(2012) and Ryan Gander’s Really Shiny Things that Don’t Mean Anything (2011) among others. Her forthcoming project include: Images of War (2014) co-curated with Tarek Abo El-Fetouh and Two Avant-gardes (2015) at the NCCA in Moscow. She participated in the Young Curators Workshop at the 6. Berlin Biennale in 2010 and the Curatorial Intensive in New York in 2013. She is a co-founder of the research project Points of Convergence. Performance and Contemporaneity researching the genealogies and historicity of performance art in Eastern Europe, established in the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw in collaboration with André Lepecki, Associate Professor in Performance Studies, New York University.

Marialena Marouda

Marialena Marouda is a performance maker and a performance dramaturge, writer and researcher. She studied Philosophy and Visual Arts at Columbia University in New York, and continued her studies at the Institute of Applied Theater Studies in Giessen, Germany, from which she graduated with distinction.
As an artist, her work is situated between the genres of performance, dance and the visual arts. She is interested in developing choreographic exercises, games and scores of everyday subversive actions, such as walking and poetry-making. She develops works for the stage as well as interventions in public space.
Her series of works on walking include Walking in the City: on the Poetics of Space (4. Athens Biennale, 2013), Lecture Performance Exercise (Sophiensaele Berlin 2013), Fear City (Uferstudios Berlin, 2012) and Walking Exercises (Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, 2011). She is currently working on Poetry Exercises, a project focusing on how poetry, especially oral poetry, can be a form of resistance to an alienating language of maximum functionality and self-promotion, used within the professional framework of the arts. Marialena has collaborated with the artists MAMAZA, Martin Nachbar and Deufert & Plischke, among others.
Her work as a dance and performance dramaturge, writer and researcher, stems from the desire to get to know and become involved with diverse artistic practices and approaches. Since 2012, Marialena has been collaborating with the workspaces wpZimmer in Antwerp and Worskspace Brussels, where she is regularly invited to give feedback to the artists of the residency program. She was a participant of the first Critical Practice Program, organized during the BER-AMS-BXL Conference in collaboration with the Het Veem Theater in Amsterdam. She is currently researching about the relationship between Performance and Friendship in view of starting a PhD with Prof. Dr. Bojana Kunst.

Maja Mrđenović (withdrew from the program for personal reasons)

Maja Mrđenović (born in 1983. in Zagreb, Croatia) graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade (General Literature and Theory of Literature). At the same department acquired the title of M.Sc with thesis „The understanding of love in the Bible“. Currently, she is a MA candidate at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Cetinje, department for Managament and production of Theater, Radio and Culture (thesis title: „Theatre art in cultural policy for children and young people: productional problems and aspects of theatre for children and young people in Montenegro“). She is a permanent theatre critic for montenegrin daily newspaper Pobjeda from 2010., and also regulary publishes articles in the field of cultural policy and interviews in Pobjeda and Vijesti. She acts as permanent associate of the montenegrin theatre magazine Gest (the only one of that kind in Montenegro), in the field of theater studies, theatre critic and theatre production. She has been a mediator of post-show discussions at several institutional and alternative theatre festivals, member of the jury at several competitions for best drama text, and has participated in round tables and conferences concerning different theatre issues. She is currently part-time employed as Special (theoretical) program editor at Foundation Kotor’s Festival of Theatre for Children, and, from 2012., she is a board chairman of NGO ASSITEJ Montenegro (dedicated to developing of theatre for children and young people). She participated in numerous workshops from the filed of theatrology and theatre production in region and several in Europe. Her particular commitment is to work on developing of critical thinking and action in the field of performing arts (and wider, in Montenegrin culture and society) especially among young people, in order to overcome old patterns of actings (omnipresent in Montenegro), which involve servility, opportunism, mediocrity, passivity etc. as the only ways to gain “a place of appearance” and economic security.

Jasmina Založnik

Mag. Jasmina Založnik is a self-employed cultural worker who works mainly as writer, curator, dramaturge and producer in the field of contemporary performing arts. She has finished her postgraduate studies in philosophy at Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA).
Since her studies, Jasmina has been an indispensable contributor to performing arts and the culture scene in Slovenia. She cooperates with several performing arts festivals and writes about contemporary performing arts, philosophy and issues within the cultural theory. Her main interests are issues concerning the knot of politics, aesthetics, questions of labor and subjectivity.
As curator and artistic director she has coordinated several international festivals, were she strives to twist the settled views and critically engage with existing modes of production and festival formats. She contributes to various magazines and journals. She engages in artworks in the fields of performance and dance as dramaturge, co-author, performer and artistic collaborator.
She is an active member of the international platform Nomad Dance Academy, regular collaborator of Cona, Institute for Contemporary Art Processing, a member of the Association of Theatre Critics and Researchers of Slovenia and City of Women Association. Moreover she is a member of commission board for performing art at JSKD and at Municipality of Maribor.
